Registration

• For each Merit Badge date listed you will see that there is also a registration date listed.
• On the registration date, you must call 409-683-4320 at 9:00 am.
• Please leave a message on the voicemail including your name, scout’s name, class of interest, and a daytime phone number.
• No one will answer the phone.
• All calls will be returned the following morning in the order of which they are received.
• Scouts will be placed into classes in the order of which their call was received.
• Calls placed prior to 9:00 am will not be returned.
• Online registrations will not be accepted.
• Calls left on any other extension risk the chance of not getting transferred to the correct extension on time.
• The Boy Scout hotline is 409-683-4320, and scouts@moodygardens.com is the email address for Boy Scout inquiries.
• Registration is cutoff the week of the class.  (Ex:  October 17, classes will no longer accept registrations after October 12- no exceptions)
• Please be sure to call the day of registration, as classes will fill quickly.

General Info

• All classes will take place at the same time.  Therefore, scouts may only register for 1 class per date.
• A medical form and model form are required for all participating scouts, and are kept on file for 1 year.
• Check in begins at 8:15 am, and all classes will start promptly at 9:00 am.
• Scouts are not required to wear Class A, or B uniforms.  Comfortable clothing will suffice!
• All scouts are required to bring a merit badge card, and sack lunch.
• The class registration fee will not include admission into the attractions (unless you are attending an ocean themed class.  In that case a tour of the Aquarium is included during the workshop time.).
• Each class will have a different ending time.  The ending time of each class is based upon the total number of scouts present, as well as how quickly your scout completes the required work.  No class will carry on past 4:00 pm!

·         We have experienced issues this past year with classes running over their scheduled ending time.  Please note that our Merit Badge Day instructors will hold the scouts as needed in order for them to complete the required work.  The only other option is to end the class on time, and send some scouts home without requirements signed off.  Your patience and understanding in these situations is greatly appreciated, as our Merit Badge Instructors want to assure that every scout leaves with every requirement completed.

·         Some classes will have outside requirements.  Please note that Moody Gardens’ Merit Badge Instructors will no longer sign off on outside requirements (even if they are brought to the class).  We will only sign off on requirements that are completed during Boy Scout Merit Badge Day classes.
