Scouting for Food
January 30
February 6
This service project will kick off Saturday, January 30, as Scouts drop off door hangers to announce the upcoming food drive. The following Saturday, Scouts will return to pick up donations from the same locations. (Details).
Celebration at Minute Maid Park
February 15-18
The Norman Rockwell and Joseph Csatari Exibit will be held the 15-17 and the celebration to be held on the 18th. This unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime event will unite every facet of Boy Scouts at Minute Maid Park. Bring the whole family and celebrate the birthday of Scouting with a Festive evening at the ballpark. Tickets are $16.00 per person and includes a box dinner. Tickets will sell on a first come first serve basis (click for Order Form). The gates will open at 6:00. more.
Scout Fair
April 24
The Houston Scout Fair, held at Reliant Arena, is the biggest Scout Show in the nation.
Council Summer Camping
June/July
Cub Scouts: Attend District Day Camp or Bovay Resident Camp
Boy Scouts: Attend Summer Camp at a Council Camp
Venturers: Attend Venturing Summit on August 13-15
Adults and Scouts: Staff at one of of the above
SHACJam Camping Adventure
October 8-10
The 2nd largest BSA event in 2010, second only to the National Jamboree, will be held at the Texas World Speedway near College Station. Boy Scouts Troops and Venture Crews will have a two-night event filled weekend. Webelos may participate in a visitor overnight program on October 9th. Cub Scouts and families are invited to visit on Saturday.
2010 Segment Patch
Participate in all 5 of the Centennial events to earn all 5 segments of the Centennial patch! The middle of the patch (star) will be available for purchase at the Cockrell Scout Center. The 5 segments will be earned at each Centennial event.
