ATTENTION ALL TROOPS, CREWS AND SHIPS:

Having an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer and NRA Certified Instructor is a REQUIREMENT to be able to take your troop/crew or ship on a shooting event. Sam Houston Area Council offers classes each year at a reduced rate for Scouters to obtain this important training and Certification. If you would like to take these courses please see below for signup. With SHAC Jam and National Jamboree in the fall, these may be the only opportunities to take these courses this year, so sign up quickly if you can attend.

Tuesday April 6: 6 PM till 9 PM- Cockrell Scout Center (Scout Office- Room 100)
Thursday April 8: 6 PM till 9 PM- Cockrell Scout Center (Scout Office- Room 100)
Attendance on both nights required for this 6-hour NRA Course.
April 17 – All-Day Shotgun Instructor Course set for Camp Strake.
May 15- All-Day Rifle Instructor Course set for Camp Strake
