The Boy Scouts of America will be celebrating its 100 year anniversary in 2010 with a wide range of activities and events that will go on throughout the year. On February 20, 2010, the Bay Area Council will commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Scouting by holding a Scout Expo at Moody Gardens in Galveston. This will be a day‐long adventure that will showcase the history of the Boy Scouts of America as well as allowing everyone to participate in a variety of scouting activities. The Scout Expo will kick off with a 5K Run in the morning and will conclude with a fireworks closing ceremony at the end of the day.

Be sure to get your passport stamped at each of the themed areas. At the end of your trek, simply show your fully stamped passport to the representative at the headquarters booth (see location on map) and pickup your patch.
Upon arriving at the Scout Expo, you can receive your passport at the Visitor Information Booth located in the Cub Scout Program area.
Food Drive - Good Turn for America Service Project
A key part of the Scout Expo will be a Scouting for Food drive service project. All scouts and volunteers are requested to participate by bringing at least 5 cans (any size) of nonperishable food to be donated to local food banks from our council area. Please bring can goods only because the Service Project Committee has a spectacular display planned using the cans to demonstrate how much can be accomplished when scouts work together to help others! Our goal is to raise ONE TON of food for those in need!
When you arrive at the Scout Expo, please bring the can goods to the Visitor Information Booth located in the Cub Scout Program area. And be sure to stick around for the unveiling and weigh-in of the food display at the Closing Celebration.
